I lift my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

The Bible is full of promises from God. And his promises are yes and Amen in Christ Jesus. It is for everyone who believes, some promises are conditional. Some of these promises become very personal when God speaks to us through his word, exactly when we needed to hear that. For instance when we are going through a particular situation, God leads us to some promise, which assures us of his presence or providence or his power, it brings us such peace and comfort that no one can comprehend it. We would also see that promise eventually being fulfilled in our lives.

This year too I was assured of his love and presence in my life through various promises. Especially, when I heard the theme for our VBS was announced as “Jesus: the Miracle Worker” I knew He was gonna do miracles in my life this year. Because every year we get to learn a lot about Jesus, some fresh revelations about him, in and through the lesson preparations, teacher’s devotions and all the testimonies that we hear and see it happen right in front of our eyes.

We used to pray for breakthrough every 3rd Sunday at Church and I used to have a list that I’ve been having in a long time. There were times of hope and faith, there were times of despair and doubts, but God held on to me and gave me the first breakthrough in September – I got promoted. There had been volatile situation prevailing for a long time at work, wrought with uncertainty, organizational changes etc, but God opened doors for me and placed me on higher ground.

I praise the Lord and thank him for all his goodness and mercy towards me, for all the promises he has made and kept, so faithfully! I know my season of breakthroughs has started, I have hope and at the close of this year, I see two more on the horizon – soon to be crossed off from the list. All praise, glory and honor to Him who sits on the throne and unto the lamb, forever and ever. Amen!
