Change

I don’t know why but I always seem to hate changes! I seem to have an aversion to it. I get so comfortable in the place that I am in that the very thought of changing scares me a lot. Some changes may be good for us, some bad but we never know right? We might think of it as changing for the better, but in the end it might lead us into a difficult position. Some changes we might think is bad initially but as time goes on we realize it is not that bad after all!
The change might be as small as changing my cubicle in my office, but still my heart doesn’t accept it! Being in this company, after changing to 6 seats in 3 buildings with 3 teams in a short span of 3 years – by this time I should have learned the lesson of not being attached to my cubicle right? But I’m sad to say that I have not! L
If you are used to follow some routine in life like I’m used to – you’d be able to relate. Change is inevitable! It is going to come at us at any point of time. Some maybe big – like take marriage for instance! It might require us to change jobs/change location – we might have to shift to another city or state but thankfully all I had to do was shift my things to his house 😉 which was a bus stop away, but it was a change nevertheless! I still wonder how I manage it – all by God’s grace only! And His grace is enough!
Sometimes what God wants us to do may not look like the most appealing thing in the world but when we choose to do it anyway then we get to see God’s fingerprint there and he makes it into something very remarkable – something we would have never even thought of! Take Joseph’s life for instance. He was happily living with his family, he was his father’s pet and all of a sudden one day he was sold out as a slave by his own brothers. God allowed that to happen, Joseph wouldn’t have had the slightest clue on why God would want that for his life, but God knew that Joseph had to be in Egypt in order to save not only himself and his family but also the whole nation of Egypt and the surrounding nations as well, from the famine that was to come. [In case you didn’t know about Joseph: http://www.dltk-bible.com/genesis/story_of_joseph-cv.htm ]
God sees our future and plans our todays. We have to trust that He knows what is best for us. And He is always with us no matter where we go. He places us in the place we currently are – because of a reason. (We might be an answer to somebody’s prayer!) We are called to be the lights of the world, no one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl. We might have to change teams or change offices or change cities or even change careers but when we do it according to God’s will, God will help us fit in.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11
