Most of us would be familiar with what God has promised in His word, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. For people who have often read this verse it would seem like something common. We don’t realize what a valuable and priceless promise it is until we experience it in our lives. Most often when we are surrounded by people and we get help from others whenever we are in some need or the other, then we tend to rely on those around us when we can’t handle it on our own.
But there comes certain situations in life wherein you have no one by your side, no one you can turn to for help, no one that can help you at that point of time and you feel left out and all alone. Then you cry out to God and He softly replies “I am always by your side, I have never left you or forsaken you”. It might seem easier for us to believe in people we can see rather than trust a God whom we cannot see but people change, situations change, nothing is permanent in this world but God is! His words never fail and if He says He will never leave you alone – then He will never, ever leave you alone!
At times it may seem from certain incidents like God had just left us alone to deal with our problems but strangely it is not the case! Bad things could have happened to us in the past, even now you may be in a situation wherein you feel helpless and that nothing seems to happen, you are not out of it yet and God just seems to be distant but our God asks us to walk by faith and not by sight. The journey might be hard but hold on! just hang in there, you may never know, the victory might be just round the corner! Remember the story of the battle of Jericho?

On the 7th day the people had to come around 7 times and it must’ve been a really tiring thing to do – especially to walk the last time, to shout aloud, blowing trumpets, knowing not what the actual plan of God was, must have been really tough but still they didn’t lose hope. They decided to walk by faith and not by sight! And God gave them a great victory that day and we worship the same God, He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is our warrior God to whom the battle belongs and He is the One who gives us the victory!
