Thoughts: Hannah's Blog

I woke up with a beautiful dream (after a long time) I usually don’t remember my dreams much but some dreams are vivid and unforgettable. This was one such dream so thought I’d note it down. Some parts were ridiculous (like how most dreams are) but the beauty of the places I saw was like HD quality. The details, the slowness, the clarity was amazing, like an advertisement for a new TV or a high resolution video camera. I’ll try my best to describe.

It started with someone describing some good movie that they saw (just some voice in the background) There was a camel slowly chewing something, some red flowers falling down from a tree in slow motion. The whole scene was as if some sepia filter was being applied, some orangish yellow backdrop.

The scene shifts and I get to see a channel of water, sort of like a canal with big green trees on either side. I start traveling slowly along the pathway which was parallel to the canal. The water in the canal was sort of greenish brown, I still remember the reflection of sky and clouds on the water. Then I seemed to be traveling on the water in some canoe of some sort, wading the waters with a long stick.

The scene shifts to the traffic filled roads of Chennai and there were waters on the road due to the rains and I’m traveling on a mat/raft like structure, on the roads, navigating with the same stick. Additionally I seem to have acquired some passengers on the mat. The other travellers on the road, like two wheelers, they move away, giving me way so I can keep moving without stopping.

Next scene, a juice shop! My mom and my sister seem to be tasting different kinds of fruits before deciding on which kind of juice they want to have. My mom decides on Mango and I choose to go with the same choice. They pack the juices in bottles and they give us so we can take it with us.

Then I seem to be in some resort grounds. I see some gardeners working on some bushes, there is green all around. I glimpse something a short distance away and I decide to go explore. I see that it is some side of a mountain with a short ledge or protrusion on it where people are sitting. I decide to go join them.

It starts to rain, ever so gently like misty soft showers, everyone is delighted to see the refreshing rain and they enjoy it. The tiny droplets glitter in the sun, they look so beautiful that I decide to take a photo in my mobile.

I unlock my mobile and try to capture a slow motion video of the droplets falling and glinting in the sun. But the options in my phone change from English to Tamil and I’m trying to figure out which is the Tamil equivalent of slow motion and wondering if I should just change the settings.

That’s when my phone starts to ring and I wake up to answer it. It was my cook asking me what to cook for the day. I had a hard time thinking as I was not sure which world I was in, had to pull myself to reality to answer her query.
