I don’t know how many of you would remember this term, but I studied a poem titled “Topsy turvy” when I was in my school days. The poem was how it would be if the world were upside down. Well today, in a sense, my world has turned upside down and hence I was reminded of this when I sat down to write.
I have often times heard and a few times experienced what King David meant when he said “You have turned my mourning into dancing” For instance, this Sunday, even though the situations which I found myself in was weighing me down, that morning I was filled with joy, forgetting the fears of what Monday might bring. But through the week, I was saddened, being weighed down by a burden that I felt was too much for me to bear.
Even though I did remember the verse, “Cast your burdens on the LORD, and He shall sustain you” it seemed that I was not obeying! As days passed on without any visible answers for my prayer one way or the other, I grew disappointed and tired. Yesterday I was pushed on to a point of desperation wherein I lost all hopes of getting my issue resolved in the way in which I was trying, for the past TWO weeks. I decided to stop trying and go for some other approach.
This morning I was in the same hopeless mood. I was not able to focus my mind to read His word, not able to open my mouth to sing His praise, not even able to close my eyes in prayer! All I could manage was a feeble cry for strength. I felt so dry. I came to office, started searching for some data related to the second approach when I saw some data related to my first approach, I had decided to stop trying as I had tried so many times and failed.
But on THIS morning my Lord had decided to change my situation upside down, cos I tried, telling myself once again that “This is the last time” and – it worked! You cannot imagine my surprise! my relief! my joy! God knows! In one beautiful moment, my whole situation had changed! I could really have joined in singing “You have turned my mourning into dancing” but I felt so speechless at that moment that all I could offer were tears of gratitude to my Lord and Savior!
I hope this testimony of mine helps to encourage a fellow believer who might be facing a similar hopeless situation. Our God is a DELIVERER!
