I was rejected.

Well, all of us come to this status at one point of time or the other. It might be in job or marriage proposals or love! Sometimes we face rejection from family members, people whom we thought as friends. We do feel bad when we are rejected. The feeling that someone doesn’t want you – it hurts deep inside! All of us want to be accepted by others and that way we seem to feel some satisfaction in life.
Let me share with you when I felt rejected. If you had read my blog titled “My heart’s desire” you would have known one quality of mine “Impatience”. I hated waiting! But God’s lessons always consists of a waiting phase wherein He teaches us a lot and I guess that is the time that I have seriously inquired of God, spent time in His presence trying to figure it all out. I’ve never been able to figure out His ways till now and I know that I will never be able to – because it’s like some clay is trying to understand the mind of the potter and guess how it is gonna be shaped! “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”, declares the LORD. (Isa 55:8)

I started attending companies for placement from June (2010) onwards and I attended nearly 20 companies. Of course I didn’t clear all rounds in all companies! Didn’t even clear the written in most of those but I did go in for interviews and guess what “I was made to wait!” if you had attended many interviews you might understand my situation. From the moment that I receive intimation that I had cleared the written I will go and sit in that placement cell for such a long time waiting for the next round and then waiting for those results! So from June till Jan, it was the same story. Every time I was rejected. I did feel a little bad to know that I am not good enough to be placed in such and such companies. It was tough. I was on the verge of losing hope but God kept reminding me that He was with me and that He will take care of all things for me. My constant comfort were in His words, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jere 29:11)

All is well that ends well. Finally by His grace I got offer in a place I never even dreamt of getting into! That was before I stepped into that company. Once I stepped into it I wanted to be there but I thought it was impossible as I looked at the situations around me rather than my God, who keeps proving to me time and time again that He is the God of the impossible!

There were times when I felt rejected by God! I felt very depressed and was down in the depths when once again He spoke to me His words of comfort “I have chosen you and have not rejected you” (Isa 41:9) I have read this chapter many times before. In fact, verse 10 is a very famous one and many people know it by heart “Do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” But the 9thverse! When I was reading it that day I felt so happy! I was so astounded at the way He spoke to me directly through His words! I realized that the Bible is not just a Holy book that some people think of it to be but it is truly the word of God that speaks of His love to each of us personally!
I may have been rejected by this world but I have a Savior who has chosen me!  He is more than enough!

Thank you Hannah, for sharing your feelings and disappointments so freely and frankly. As you have mentioned, it is comforting to know that our Lord Jesus Christ never rejects us, even if the whole world rejects us. If God be on our side, what more do we need. When the companies did not offer you job, it is not because they did not want you, because God had kept a better place for you.So is the case with the marriage proposals.
