I clicked this pic when I had gone to the play area inside our apartment complex. When I was trying to think of a caption, the first thing that came to mind was “Fall (the season)” But it is not fall season now, spring is right around the corner.
I thought to myself, the old leaves have to fall, in order to make place for new leaves to grow. Guess different trees have different seasons or ways in which it gets to the season of new growth. For instance, I had to prune my jasmine plant recently to prepare for new growth.
For this tree, the leaves dried and shed on its own. Sometimes I’ve noticed, first one half of the tree’s leaves fall and new growth starts, while the other half retains it’s old leaves, then once the new growth starts, the other half starts to fall. It is miraculous, the way God has designed things to happen in nature.
Different trees shed differently in different seasons. Some are flowering plants, some bring forth fruit, some have neither flowers nor fruit, they might serve ornamental purposes. Then there are herbs, their leaves are used as medicines. Each plant serves its purpose.
I strongly believe that each one of us is planted here on earth with a divine purpose. Seasons change. There are letting go of old purposes to prepare the way for new purposes to be ushered in. Each of our journey is unique. If you feel like you are in the shedding season, fret not. Just wait on God, He is preparing you for what he has prepared ahead of you. Do not be afraid to let go of what was or what is so we will be able to make place to receive what He has in store for us.
It might be tough to let go sometimes. We are so used to things that are familiar, being in our comfort zone that what’s new or unknown might scare us. Waiting times can be hard, especially when we are filled with uncertainty and no clear sign posts on which way to go.
No dreams, no visions, no falling of the blueprint of life from heaven, when God seems silent, when his hands are not visible. As if the foundation that you had been standing on for so long feels unstable or starts shaking all of a sudden. When the only way forward seems to be that leap of faith. What do we do then?
TRUST in Him : We can look to the unshakeable Rock who is always steady and Eternal. The One who is the same yesterday, today and forever, who is faithful in keeping his promises, he is not a man that he can lie, even though we are faithless, he remains faithful for he cannot deny himself.
Hold on to the TRUTH: Keep reiterating the truth of God’s character as revealed in and through the Scriptures. Let the current situation not distort the truth of who God is and what He has promised. His word refreshes us.
Recollect your personal TESTIMONIES: Think of the ways in which God has delivered in the past. Write it down in a journal. If you had already written it down, take time to read through it. It will encourage you to hold on to hope.
Stand strong when life changesStand strong through the ups and downsStand strong for you know that God is in control
The storms of life will push and pullBut we are standing on the Rock that never rollsThe storms of life will push and pullWe will keep standing God is in control
