If you had followed my blogs, you would be seeing a pattern emerge. I make it a point to write a blog in December about how the year has gone by. Last year I missed doing that so this year starting with a difference. Planning to write what I am looking forward to this year. The moment I pen this down though, I am reminded of a verse:

    We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps. – Proverbs 16:9.

So I have no clue as to what would happen this year! My kid would be turning 3 so he’d be starting to go to school and that is a major milestone for us as a family! A little apprehensive about how things would turn up, but I hope all will be well.

When I think of the year 2020 I can’t help but be reminded of the year of vision or of targets/goals being set. I think it’s mainly because of Abdul Kalam’s book. (Haven’t read it yet) So what are my goals for 2020? I am generally not a goal-oriented person, I usually go with the flow.  I don’t make new year resolutions because I tend to forget them before the end of January!

But just like every other year, this year too I hope to become a better person than I am today, to have a closer walk with God, to know him more. I also look forward to the long awaited marriages in friends/family. Lot of people I know got married last year, and some are still pending 😉 so hoping to see them settled.

Travel to some new place maybe. Read good books. Learn a new skill. Continue to work on practising some of the art work that I take interest in. Try to come out of my comfort zone in a few areas of my life.  Grab hold of that opportunity when it knocks on my door. Discern. Talk less, listen more. (that’s a tough one!)

Sometimes fear of future and uncertainty can be a bit over powering. But I take comfort in this one thing:

You saw me before I was born.  Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. – Psalms 139:16.

The God who knew me before I was born, has already written all the days of my life in his book, even before one day was done. How comforting that is! He is in control, He knows all my tomorrows, nothing happens that takes him by surprise. He has planned it all carefully even before one of them came to be. In the book named “Hannah” a new chapter has started titled “2020”. I don’t know how many chapters are left, but I hope I live life to the fullest whatever the count is.
