The whole nation is mourning the sad demise of our beloved former president and scientist Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. He was an inspiration to many – especially students and youth all over the country. He has visited so many colleges and given lectures. He also came to our office once. That would stay as a fond memory in our lives.
Heart attack ; while delivering a lecture at a college – a thing that he loved doing. Many say that it was the best way to go – while doing something he loved and I agree. When I think of the recent deaths that I have heard, I am saddened. Death in itself is sad, but the way some people die makes us sadder – for instance, suicide. People tend to find a permanent solution to a temporary problem, that too some at a very young age when they haven’t even known what life is.
I have also heard of deaths, where people die peacefully in their sleeps, some with a smile on their faces, some surrounded by their family, getting a chance to say the last goodbye. I would say such are blessed deaths and so are the ones dying while doing what they love.
I also believe that it is not in the number of years we live, but the way we live the years that has been given to us. We never know when our last day will be, so as long as we live, let us aspire to live a life that is lived full.
