Finally the day has arrived. I started getting my gifts as early as January! So I thought this birthday wouldn’t be as exciting – but I was so wrong. I am happy 🙂 even though I am growing old, I am still happy. I am growing wiser too (hopefully) and I am really thankful to God for carrying me all these years(I won’t tell you how many) and for taking care of me through all the good days and the bad.
Glad to get wishes from all my near and dear ones. (Though some had forgotten and I had to remind a few others :P) Feels really great to be loved. I guess to love and be loved is one of the greatest blessings on earth. I think that is how we are wired deep inside and that is why we yearn and thirst for love. I am glad to have been blessed with a loving family and good friends.
Feeling excited on what this year might bring. Starting this new year in my life with a heart filled with hope and joy – only because I know who holds my future. He created my inmost being, He knit me together in my mother’s womb… I am fearfully and wonderfully made, His works are wonderful!… My frame was not hidden from him when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. His eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in his book before one of them came to be. (Psalms 139:13-16) It feels really good to personalize these verses. To know that we are born on earth with a purpose, and we are not just here accidentally.
I know some people do not celebrate their birthdays and there are some who celebrate too much! Well, celebrations mean different things to different people and for me, I just cherish the fact that I was born on this earth and I am alive till this day. I got to learn a lot through all these years and through various people that I have met with. There are lots of experiences in life that I have enjoyed, that stay on as precious memories. I hope I become the person that God wants me to be and not lose focus on the final goal as I run this race of mine.
