The start of a brand new year – with new resolutions, new hopes, new beginnings! We are moving forward at an alarming rate! Can’t believe that I was born in the 80’s! I feel so old when I think of being in 2014! But age need not be a detrimental factor! We are who we are! Each year teaches us new lessons, brings us new experiences, we do lots of things for the first time in our lives and we always have the hope in our hearts that things would turn out for good.

We are almost nearing the end of the first month in this year! So for those who have taken new year resolutions – how has your progress been so far? Usually I never take any new year resolutions because even before the end of January I forget what resolution I had taken! But this year I have taken one, don’t ask me what it is. My progress so far? Well I wouldn’t exactly call it as a progress but I’m not giving up at this time!

And one more thing I have decided to do this year is to maintain a journal of blessings. It is always good to keep a record of all the good things that happen to us, so that we might develop an attitude of gratitude every time we look those up. Whenever we feel down in the dumps and in hopeless situations it would always cheer us up to hear ourselves talking of all the good times in the past and how God had helped us through it all. Trust me it is a wonderful source of encouragement, I have done this before. But like all other good habits I had slowly let go of this one.

So this year I will write in my personal journal at the end of each month of what had happened in that month so that I will remember the things to be thankful for at the end of the year for all the blessings that God had done for me. (Usually I get so confused with events and the months in which it happened) This will help brush up my memory (which is rusting)
So, what have you decided? Will you join me on this one?
