Hannah is a special name because it is a palindrome, not everyone’s name is a palindrome right? Of course there are a lot of people named Hannah, I agree. Hannah means grace or favor, who wouldn’t want to be a favorite of all? I would! But most importantly it means God’s grace (in a way) that makes it all the more special. My Parents named me Hannah after a Biblical character. The story of Hannah is available in the Bible, in the Book of I Samuel chapters 1 to 3.

Let me tell you her story in short. She was barren (without any kids) for a long time and she was so sad about it. One day when she went to the temple to worship God, she was feeling so miserable that she cried out to the LORD Almighty, asking for a son. She also made a promise that if God would give her a son, she will give the son back to God for ministering in the Church. The priest mistook her thinking that she was a wicked woman but she replied to him in a humble manner telling him that she was pouring out her soul to the LORD. The priest blessed her and sent her away. After about a year’s time she gave birth to a son and named him Samuel – meaning “I asked the LORD”. And just as she had promised, She brought Samuel to the Church and left him there for serving the LORD. Every year she used to come and meet him when she comes for worshipping the LORD. The boy grew up in favor with the LORD and men (I Sam 2:26) and the LORD started using Samuel as His prophet (I Sam 3:20) and the whole country recognized him. Samuel was considered as the last judge of Israel, a prophet of the LORD and he was the one who anointed the first two kings of Israel. Hannah had 3 more sons and 2 daughters. J

So that was about Hannah in the Bible. How about me? Am I special? Well if you ask people who don’t like me, they might say that I am not at all special, just another ordinary girl. If you ask a few of my close friends, they might tell you that I am special to them in some way or the other, that I would have touched their lives. If you ask my mom she would definitely tell you that I am special – well that is mother’s love. But I have come to know of a greater love than that, yes the love of the LORD!
“Can a mother forget her baby and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you” says the LORD. He has engraved me in the palm of His hands. (Isaiah 49:15, 16). He was the one who created my inmost being, He knit me together in my mother’s womb and I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:13, 14) even the very hairs of my head are numbered (Matthew 10:30) He loved me so much that he gave His one and only Son so that  I may believe in Him and have eternal life (John 3:16) And Jesus proved that on the cross by dying for me so that my sins might be forgiven and I might live. He rose up on the third day and is now victoriously seated in Heaven, waiting for the day that He would return.

"But I have come to know of a greater love than that, yes the love of the LORD!" Liked this sentence of yours, as this is really depicting the Love of the Lord, which forms the crux of this very Gospel of Jesus, where the Love of God manifested in its most whole way. Adding to this: The Love of God through Jesus, can be seen in a different way, through the three Crosses on Calvary. The first cross was that of a criminal who rejected Jesus, and the third cross was that of one who accepted Him as his Saviour. But the middle one was that of Jesus, who was our redeemer, who gave himself as a ransom for all people(1 Timothy 2:5-6), and made us all who believed in Him unite and gel along as true believers in Christ. This can be thus concluded as we read in John 3:16, 'For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life'.
